Non-Degree Programs

General Information

Grace School of Theology believes strongly in offering a rich and diverse set of educational offerings for those not pursuing an advanced degree. We know that everyone can benefit from deeper understanding of the Scriptures, Christ, theology, prophecy, and ancient languages.

To accomplish this, we offer two enrichment paths:

Biblical Studies Certificate (BSC)

The certificate program at GSOT is designed for the Christian layperson who desires a flexible and less demanding course of study that will provide a general knowledge of the Bible and basic theology. This one year (30 credit hours) certificate program is ideal for those volunteering in the local church or other ministry, and who wish to be further equipped but do not have the time or inclination to enter a formal master's level degree program.

Required Courses in the BSC Program

BI 1310 Bible Study Methods (Hermeneutics)
BI 1311 Old Testament Survey - Pentateuch: Genesis - Deuteronomy
BI 1312 Old Testament Survey - History: Joshua - Esther
BI 1323 Old Testament Survey - Wisdom Literature: Job - Song of Solomon
BI 1324 Old Testament Survey - Major Prophets: Isaiah - Daniel
BI 1325 Old Testament Survey - Minor Prophets: Hosea - Malachi
BI 1336 New Testament Survey - The Gospels
BI 1338 New Testament Survey - Hebrews, General Epistles and Revelation
BI 1337 New Testament Survey - Acts and Pauline Epistles
Plus 3 credit hours of electives in the Systematic Theology department

All courses required for the Bible Study Certificate program must be taken for credit (not enrichment) and may count towards any of our other degree programs if the student wishes to continue his or her formal theological education and is accepted into one of the degree programs. If you are a new student, you must pay a one-time $30 fee for application for admission.

Taking Seminary Courses for Enrichment and Not for Credit

Most of our courses may be taken for enrichment rather than for credit. Taking a course for "enrichment" is the same as "auditing a course." The enrichment student is not required to complete any of the assigned material for the course, and any material completed may not be graded depending on the availability and discretion of the professor.

Courses taken for enrichment do not count towards any degree or certificate program. If the student wishes to convert an enrichment course to a credit course, he or she must request to do so before the last class meeting for the course. The student must have timely completed all assigned material, pay the difference in tuition and fees due for credit, and otherwise comply with all applicable requirements of the seminary and the professor. Further, conversion of a course taken for enrichment to a credit course is ultimately at the discretion of the professor teaching the course and the academic dean.

If you are a new student, you must pay a one-time $30 fee for application for admission. To download the appropriate application, please click here >>>
